Job Description

Bede Polding College is seeking a passionate and innovative Secondary Music Teacher and Extra Curricular Music Leader for a fulltime permanent role commencing in Term 3 2025. This position also includes a 12 month temporary 1point time and pay allocation for extracurricular music coordination.

The successful candidate will:

  • Foster a deep understanding of students and their learning styles through inclusive learnercentred pedagogy

  • Demonstrate expertise in Music teaching across Stages 4 to 6 utilising a variety of teaching methods strategies and technologies such as notation programs digital audio workstations and sound systems

  • Manage tuition and ensemble programs effectively

  • Lead instrumental and worship ensembles as well as direct large group singing rehearsals (preferred)

  • Collaborate with the learning team to design and implement effective teaching programs in line with data the Colleges strategic direction curriculum and available resources

  • Show a strong commitment to the values of Catholic Education and actively support the academic pastoral and Catholic aspects of College life

  • Assess student learning provide feedback and report on progress

  • Participate in professional development initiatives alongside staff

  • Engage professionally with colleagues parents and the community including organising events concerts and performances for the College and beyond

  • Have experience teaching Stage 6

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation (Working with Children Check clearance)

  • Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)

  • A tertiary qualification (minimum 4year degree)

The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for childrelated employment including a valid Working with Children Check and adoption and compliance with CSPDs Child Safeguarding Procedures and Code of Conduct When Working With Students and Children.
