Summary

Provide senior level leadership regarding the campus safety and protection of all stakeholders by continually assessing the district from a safety perspective and implementing all necessary safetyrelated training and procedures.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelors degree and 5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference may be given for Masters degree experience in an educational setting school administrator certification and/or advanced CLEET Certification with Instructor Certification in one of the following areas: Law Enforcement Driver Training Defensive Tactics or Firearms.

Travel across the district is required; must possess a valid Oklahoma drivers license and maintain an acceptable driving record.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities(other duties may be assigned)

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Develop prepare update and implement written safety and health programs plans and policies that promote occupational safety and health awareness.
  • Ensures compliance with federal state and local safety laws regulations codes and rules.
  • Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Serves as chair for the district safety committee and provides technical and administrative support to the campus safety committees.
  • Reviews accident and incident reports and identify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries accidents and health problems.
  • Provide internal and external safety trainings as needed.
  • Conducts safety inspections and audits.
  • Thorough knowledge of National Incident Management Systems and Incident Command Systems
  • Oversee Student Resource Officers while on campus and manage contracts with local providers.
  • Coordinates safety and emergency preparedness drills and training at each site for serious incidents (such as catastrophic storm damage active shooter biohazard etc.) according to federal state and local statutes and guidelines.
  • Prepares and files required emergency preparedness and security reports with federal state and local authorities.
  • Oversees security camera system and facility access control.
  • Serves as the district Clergy compliance officer.
  • Monitors community crime trends and statistics that may impact school safety.
  • Develops and implements prevention strategies in an effort to minimize the likelihood of school violence.
  • Identifies security deficiencies and recommends necessary improvements.
  • Serves as the district liaison to the local Police Department Fire Department and other law enforcement and emergency management related agencies.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and additional days/evenings as required by position responsibilities.
  • Maintains a school climate that is safe orderly secure and positive for all students faculty staff and visitors.

Travel to and from other campuses and buildings occasionally requires exposure to outside elements.
