Job Description

2nd Shift Assistant Maintenance Manager

Unitex is currently seeking a hands on 2nd Shift Assistant Maintenance Manager to oversee a team of industrial mechanics and porters in our industrial plant located in South Windsor CT.

The salary range for this position is $85000 to $90000. Actual compensation decisions are based on factors such as experience seniority location and other permissible jobrelated factors.

Schedule: SundayThursday 11:30am close around 8:30pm

MUST BE FLEXIBLE TO WORK ADDITIONAL HOURS WHEN NEEDED.

This is not a facilities or construction maintenance position.

You must have an industrial mechanic background.

The ideal candidate will have handson experience in all phases of industrial plant maintenance in a manufacturing environment and be ready to take full responsibility of a a small but critical 2nd shift team. Knowledge of electrical pneumatic and steam systems a plus. This includes the cleanliness of building maintenance.

This highly visible position requires you to take charge and supervise all aspects of the maintenance department including personnel purchasing machinery repair preventive maintenance systems etc. This is not an office job it is very hands on.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Oversees a small team of mechanics and porters for the second shift
Maintains the preventive maintenance programs
Aids the maintenance team in performing diagnostic troubleshooting
Monitors quality of repairs
Oversees building and physical plant repair issues
Maintains porter schedule to maximize cleaning effectiveness of plant and machinery
Adheres to safety programs

Required Skills:

4 years of supervisory experience in any setting
Knowledge of industrial equipment fundamentals including electrical wiring electrical components pneumonic systems steam systems water systems hydraulics and building maintenance
Ability to use basic hand tools properly and safely
Experience responding in a timesensitive environment with urgency
Ability to obtain and maintain proper licensing needed to legally operate specific plant machines (boiler license etc.)

Position reports to the Maintenance Manager.
