General Summary :
The candidate will develop a PALMS method aimed at identifying the binding site of a compound to its target protein in a cellular context. Now we can apply the PALMS workflow on pure recombinant proteins. But for transmembrane proteins like GPCRs or ion channels this method is more challenging. Being able to apply PALMS in a native context would be a great advantage
In collaboration with MS team and biochemistry team you will participate to the development of new probes allowing the binding site identification of a target of interest. Different approaches of biochemistry will be first applied after different steps of validation the assay will be done with a MS readout to determine the peptide sequence and the amino acid where the binding occurs
Missions and responsibilities:
Collect understand and summarize a publication
Contribute to proteomic studies to identify the binding site of a known target from a recombinant model and in a cell model.
Identify and implement novel approaches in biochemistry compatible with proteomic analysis based on data from the literature in collaboration with the tutor.
Interpret and exploit experimental results in the biological context in coordination with proteomics bioinformatics teams.
Participate in the development and implementation of new methodologies and strategies applied to sample preparation for proteomics.
Communicate effectively internally through written and oral communication and presentations.
Demonstrate excellent organization/multitasking communication and analytical skills with ability to effectively present scientific findings to project team
Demonstrate strong problemsolving capabilities.
Closely collaborate with other proteomic team
Knowledge skills and abilities :
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge in cell culture using cell lines primary cells bacteria or yeast.
Knowledge in proteomics sample preparation for mass spectrometry analysis.
Knowledge with SDSPAGE and Western blotting.
Scientific rigor and excellent analytical capabilities.
Capability to work with interdisciplinary teams.
