Boeing Global Services BGS is seeking an experienced C17 Field Engineer to provide embedded USAF Field and Product ReviewEngineering support atCharlotte North Carolina. This position performs and represents Boeing C17 engineeringas an integral part of a multidisciplined team.

Position Responsibilities:

• Apply knowledge of Boeing C17 design and engineering principles to assess and resolve operational issues through the aircrafts lifecycle
• Apply engineering principles and experience to research technical operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer
• Develop and release interim and permanent engineering dispositions to ensure aircraft airworthiness and overall operational safety and effectiveness
• Use innovative approaches and unique applications to solve complex nonconforming conditions
• Identify document and analyze reported problems and communicate deviations that could impact design intent and safety
• Provide design phase subject matter expertise by supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participating in design reviews
• Coordinate activities for onsite disabled aircraft repair / recovery teams safety or accident investigation boards and aircraft maintenance recovery teams
• Develop customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment
• Develop and implement technical training curriculum for internal and external customers
• Develop and implement product / process improvements
• This is a technical position at a USAF base requiring independence and technical acumen
• Travel to other operating locations to assist with operation maintenance and recovery of aircraft may be required
• Repair and troubleshoot aircraft electrical electronic and avionics systems with MILSTD1553B and ARINC 429 data bus architecture
• Position requires selected applicant to obtain cybersecurity certification that complies with AFMAN 171303 IAM Level 1 post start. All training materials and course fees will be covered
• Provide engineering technical support Operational Flight Program Loading System (OFPLS)

This position is expected to be 100% selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Charlotte NC.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science)
• Must be willing to work any shift
• Must be able to function in a demanding oncall around the clock environment
• Ability to deploy to assist with aircraft recoveries and other sustainment activities Your & our tech specs:

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Experience with troubleshooting and repairing aircraft electrical electronic and avionics systems
• Experience analyzing aircraft data from various onboard recording systems
• Previous Material Review Board (MRB) product review or delegated engineering authority on C17 program desired

Travel: Occasional travel (10%) may be required in support of the program and customer.
