The Assistant Girls Cross Country Coach will work to ensure safety skill development and progress of each player during the season. The coach will plan organize and implement a structured set of workouts/practices as well as monitoring and support of academic development of the student/athletes. The head coach reports directly to the Head Coach Athletic Director and building Principal. This position requires: MIAA Coaches Certification Prior Playing and Coaching Experience addition all Coaches are expected to: Organize players for preseason and postseason meetings. Maintain good relations with parents officials volunteers and fans. Effectively communicate and work with students administrators staff parents and the community. Have a thorough knowledge of the athletic policy at Billerica Public Schools. Be a positive role model and motivator exhibit qualities of leadership and organizational ability. Communicate with athletic trainer concerning injuries and student playing status Monitor and support studentathletes academic progress. Work collaboratively with the booster program. Be Certified in or willing to obtain certification for the following: NFHS Course Fundamental of Coaching NFHS Course Concussion Education 51 A Mandated Reporter Training First Aid and CPR/AEDCoaching positions may qualify for contributions in the Massachusetts Teachers Retirement System (MTRS) if a coach has current/prior experience working in a school district. Coaches new to the district will need to inform our payroll department if he/she should be contributing to the MTRS. Otherwise he/she would contribute to OBRA.
