Job Description

Job Summary:

The Cities for Better Health Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating program activities related to Cities for Better Health (CBH) Philadelphia and other relevant programs within Health Promotion Councils Nutrition and Active Living (NAL) department. This fulltime position supports the development and implementation of program activities and deliverables manages partner relationships and communications engages in outreach and coordinates monitoring activities. A key member of the CBH Philadelphia team the Program Coordinator informs the broader longterm vision of the program and identifies novel and innovative approaches within the domains of food access nutrition equity physical activity and chronic disease prevention and management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates and implements contractual obligations of grantfunded projects to ensure program deliverables are met in a timely manner.
Establishes and maintains strong relationships with numerous internal and external partners to ensure effective communication and efficient program implementation and serves as primary point of contact for Cities for Better Health Philadelphia.
Provides feedback on program priorities and informs the longterm vision for programmatic activities and impact.
Integrates new ideas and concepts with oversight from management staff in order to improve program delivery content and/or evaluation for target audiences.
Works with team members to plan coordinate and document regularly scheduled meetings with partners and funders. Maintains an ongoing record of meetings minutes email and phone communication with existing and prospective partners to document CBH Philadelphia program activities and progress.
Works with Program Manager Outreach and Engagement to coordinate outreach and communications activities including health fairs events newsletters social media posts and promotional material development.
Reviews and ensures program materials are health literate and culturally appropriate for diverse audiences and align with funder guidelines for branding and content.
Identifies opportunities for capacity building among CBH Philadelphia partners and explores resources to meet partner needs.
Monitors CBH Philadelphia program quality and identifies opportunities for continuous quality improvement. Provides guidance to partners and staff regarding program monitoring such as reporting timelines data collection and management.
Assists with drafting of quarterly and/or annual reports of program activities attendance and evaluation/outcomes and submits to management team for final review and submission.
Supports efforts to connect with additional funders coalition and organizations working on the social determinants of health (SDOH) in Philadelphia.
Routinely identifies and circulates resources webinars and new literature to assist the CBH Philadelphia team in staying current with local state and national trends in food access nutrition equity and physical activity.
Contributes to planning of regularly scheduled NAL staff meetings for optimal team building and performance program quality and communication.
Communicates formally on a biweekly or weekly basis with supervisor.
Participates in meetings and conferences as attendee or presenter as appropriate.
Other relevant duties as assigned.

SKILLS:
Familiar with and comfortable working in urban settings and with diverse groups of people.
Strong oral and written communication skills including writing for reports email and social media communication relationship development marketing promotion outreach and presentations that engage diverse groups of people.
Strong interpersonal communication with ability to tailor communication to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to establish priorities work independently and within a team and efficiently meet personal team and partner deadlines.
Selfmotivated hardworking and dependable.
Able to manage scheduling of own tasks and meetings across internal and external partners.
Ability to anticipate challenges develop and implement proactive approaches to mitigating challenges and problem solve.
Ability to work outside of normal business hours; limited evenings and weekends may be required.
Must be proficient in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office including: Word Excel PowerPoint and Publisher. Must have ability/desire to learn new software as needed.

Preferred:
Knowledgeable about multisector approaches to addressing food access nutrition equity physical activity and other SDOH.
Knowledgeable of public health theories principles and practices.
Knowledgeable of community health needs assessments.

EXPERIENCE:
Two years experience with Cities for Better Health programming and partners.
Two years experience working with faith communities to deliver health programming.
Two years experience managing and/or coordinating communitybased programs/activities with multiple stakeholders.
Two years experience and strong working knowledge of programs that focus on nutrition health promotion and/or public health programming.
Experience working with youth and/or adults from underresourced communities
Experience monitoring and evaluating program processes and outcomes.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience in nutrition dietetics public health health education or culinary arts. Masters degree preferred.
