- Grade 12 supplemented by related courses in call centres public relations communications and a minimum of 3 years of public relations experience; OR
- Completion of Grade 12 and a minimum of 5 years of public relations experience including a minimum of 2 years of dispatching experience
- Proficiency with computer applications and twoway radio systems

Conditions of Employment:

Work Environment:
- The Dispatch Clerk works in a fastpaced 24/7 dispatch centre environment. The position requires the ability to sit for extended periods and work with multiple computer screens and communication devices.
- Note: This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite as per the Letter of Understanding between the City of Edmonton and Civic Service Union 52.

The City of Edmonton is looking for a highly organized and efficient individual to join our Parks and Roads Services team as a Dispatcher. As the central point of contact for all maintenance and service requests you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our parks and roadways. The Dispatcher is responsible for receiving and redirecting service requests dispatching the necessary resources and ensuring the timely completion of work orders. This role involves extensive interaction with 311 equipment operators supervisors and other stakeholders requiring exceptional interpersonal and problemsolving skills. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the City of Edmontons policies and procedures as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
What will you do
- Receive and respond to various Road Maintenance requests from EPS Fire Utilities Field staff Oncall staff and others
- Main contact for ENVISO spill reporting line for COE employees and contractors
- Receive and assess 311 service requests for maintenance of roadways and park operations
- Determine the severity of service requests and dispatch the appropriate resources
- Use a GPS dashboard and twoway radio system to efficiently locate and communicate with equipment operators
- Answer afterhours calls for Traffic Operations dispatching standby personnel as needed
- Answer Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) calls providing assistance and escalating to OH&S consultants as required
