Location: Grand Rapids MI or Clearwater FL

This position which offers a blend of onsite and hybrid work arrangements is based in Grand Rapids or Clearwater FL and necessitates a presence in the office for 23 days each week. An extensive corporate relocation package is also available for eligible candidates.

Job Description

As a Systems Engineer within the New Products and Adjacencies (NPA) team your role encompasses driving the development and implementation of innovative solutions for advanced military and civil platforms. You will be at the forefront of exploring and capitalizing on emerging market opportunities. Your responsibilities include engaging in the design development integration and testing of embedded software applications with a focus on Future Vertical Lift applications and Stores Management Systems. This position is pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of business strategies related to new technologies and adjacent sectors.

Essential Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Generate and allocate system functional requirements into efficient software and firmware architectures utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

  • Validate and verify system requirements including initial integration of software and hardware.

  • Develop innovative technical solutions utilizing the full capabilities of GE Aviation Systems on development programs and proposals.

  • Interact with customer engineering organizations to define and shape requirements for future platforms and systems.

  • Develop new tools in support of MBSE objectives.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Science or similar field from an accredited university or college.

  • At least 5 years experience in MBSE engineering development.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening.

  • Ability & Willingness to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance.

  • This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of aviation systems development processes including ARP 4754A or similar.

  • Experience with software tools such as DOORs Dimensions RTC Git Windchill.

  • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML in Cameo/NoMagic tool for the design and verification of avionicsbased systems.

  • Experience with AADL and ACVIP.

  • Experience with scripting in Python JavaScript Groovy Perl Bash.

  • Knowledge of the key aspects of developing and maintaining of a Product Line.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a dynamic environment.
