Residential Efficiency Auditor(FieldBased)
Utilities Programs and Services

Location: Charlotte North Carolina (Additional locations to include Triad and Asheville for travel)

Join our team of dedicated Home Energy Auditors conducting residential energy audits in North Carolina! What you will be doing:

  • Conduct home energy assessments in residential homes entering attics basements and crawl spaces
  • Perform initial air leakage testing and visual inspection of existing equipment within the home.
  • Investigate main drivers of energy consumption in a given home.
  • Troubleshoot comfort issues and prepare customer report summarizing opportunities found during visit
  • Complete detailed and accurate data collection and enter the data in the utility modeling software.
  • Interact with homeowners and tenants and answer questions regarding energy efficiency
  • Recommend energy efficiency improvements and explain the returnoninvestment
  • Promote and encourage adoption of energy saving measures recommended in the home energy assessment
  • Provide or refer customers to technical administrative and financial assistance.
  • Coordinate with program Quality Assurance activities such as field inspections and customer surveys
  • Must have a reliable vehicle for local travel. Requirements are between 80% to 100% of the time. (reimbursement for mileage provided)

What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):

  • Bachelors Degree in (Business Energy Communication Environmental Studies or related fields)(Candidates can substitute one year of experience for each year of education)
  • 1 years of professional work experience energy or construction preferred
  • Able to lift boxes no heavier than 30 pounds climbing stairs and ladders driving walking standing above head arm movements.
  • Must be able to pass an MVR and background check.

What we would like you to have:

  • Experience promoting energy efficiency in the residential sector.
  • BPI certified Building Analyst or Energy Auditor
  • Competency using blower door and duct blaster equipment.
  • Experience with energy modeling software (REMRate Manual J etc.)
  • Understanding of building science applications or construction background
  • Basic understanding of residential mechanical equipment (HVAC water heating etc.)
  • Experience with the home improvement market in North Carolina (direct experience in production administration or sales or experience working with home improvement industry at a utility public agency or nongovernmental organization)
  • Advanced knowledge of residential energyefficient technologies
  • Customer service and/or sales conversion experience
  • Attention to details.
  • Basic math skills
  • Experience in or ability to draw basic floor plans or sketches.
  • Basic mechanical skills and ability to install basic home items such as light bulbs showerheads and potentially thermostats with training

Pay Range There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position including but not limited to relevant work experience skills certifications and competencies that align to the specified role geographic location education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on fulltime employment is:

$55388.00 $94160.00
