This role is crucial for ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for new hires at GE Appliances. Bilingual Ambassadors will be the primary support system for their assigned group assisting with all aspects of their transition and ensuring their success. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated serviceoriented individual with extensive GE Appliances Production experience and a strong commitment to continuous learning.

How Youll Create Possibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Onboarding & Orientation:Be the primary point of contact for new production employees attending orientation teaching I9/Onboarding modules conducting plant tours and providing your contact information for followup.
  • Daily Checkins & Support:Meet new hires on their first day followup with those who are absent gather feedback and ensure proper placement and training.
  • Troubleshooting & Resolution:Assist with timecard approvals answer questions and escalate issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Feedback & Improvement:Administer onthespot surveys gather feedback from new hires and employees and report findings to plant leaders and HR.
  • Continuous Learning & Adaptability:Stay informed about resources and procedures actively use technology like GEA Connect and be open to learning new things.
  • Professionalism & Engagement:Engage with employees at all levels handle challenging situations with professionalism and utilize appropriate processes and resources.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bilingual Proficiency:Must be fluent in both Swahili/Kinyarwanda and English.
  • Previous experience in translation
  • Production Role Experience:Completion of at least 2 production roles is strongly preferred.
  • ServiceOriented Mindset:Possess a strong desire to assist others demonstrate a helpful attitude and effectively guide employees to resolve issues.
  • Active Listening & Openness:Exhibit strong listening skills be open to different viewpoints and actively seek solutions.
  • Technology Proficiency:Willing to learn and adapt to new technologies advanced Excel proficiency expertise in Microsoft tools and in house tools/technology such as GEConnect.
  • Professionalism & Communication:Demonstrate professionalism in handling challenging situations and effectively communicate with employees at all levels.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including translation interpretation and email communication. Experience in interpreting for meetings phone calls and/or documents is a plus.
