As a Lead Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Payments Team youare an integral part of a team that works to develop highquality architecture solutions for various software applications on modern cloudbased technologies. As a core technical contributor you are responsible for conducting critical architecture solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of project goals.
Job responsibilities
- Engages technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose technical approaches to meet current and future needs
- Defines the technical target state of their product and drives achievement of the strategy
- Participates in architecture governance bodies
- Evaluates recommendations and provides feedback on new technologies
- Executes creative software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure and highquality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors startups and internal teams to drive outcomesoriented probing of architectural designs technical credentials and applicability for use within existing systems and information
- Designs and implements scalable and reliable cloudbased solutions on AWS utilizing services such as EC2 S3 Lambda and RDS.
- Integrates DevOps practices including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation and Configuration Management with Ansible or Chef.
- Establishes and maintains Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins GitLab CI or AWS CodePipeline.
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5 years of applied experience
- Handson practical experience delivering system design application development testing and operational stability
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s)
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD Application Resiliency and Security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g. cloud artificial intelligence machine learning mobile etc.)
- Practical cloudnative experience particularly with AWS services and architecture including VPC IAM and CloudWatch.
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Indepth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Advanced knowledge of one or more software applications and architecture disciplines
- Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend the best solutions for the future state architecture
