Overview
Working under the direct or indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse/Midwife you will assist with the provision of professional high quality patient care aimed at improving patient health outcomes. Maintaining cooperative and productive working relationships with all members of the health care team you will implement appropriate nursing care and assist with general and specialised procedures from nursing care plans. You will provide verbal and documented information within your scope of practice to patients other health care team members and members of the public and contribute to your professional expertise by maintaining ongoing personal professional development and continuing education. Strathalbyn & District Health Service provides acute services ranging from inhospital care for adults including acute care restorative programs including geriatric evaluation and management (GEM) palliative care and outpatient service this position offers a diverse and rewarding nursing experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide excellent acute care by assessing planning implementing and evaluating nursing care
Execute restorative programs to enhance patient recovery and improve quality of life
Participate actively in geriatric evaluation and management (GEM) programs aimed at providing comprehensive care to older adults
Deliver compassionate palliative care to patients and their families ensuring physical and emotional comfort during endoflife experiences
More than one part time vacancy available: one vacancy is ongoing working64 hours per fortnight; and one temporary vacancy working 64 hours per fortnight up to 26/12/2025. This is a part time vacancy andsalary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
You will be registered as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold a current practising certificate. You will have experience within the boundaries of your education and skill preparation in the provision of nursing care in the healthcare setting. Your skills will include the ability to maintain confidentiality prioritise your workload verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
