Description

Do you love inspiring curiosity creativity and learning in young children Working in our Northeast Child Development Center is both challenging and incredibly rewarding as you witness the growth and achievements of the children in your care. You play a crucial role in the development and growth of a group of amazing young children. You create a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the physical emotional social and cognitive development of our communitys next generation. Our center is open to children ages 6 weeks through kindergarten.

Broad Scope and Function of Job:

Early Childhood assistant teachers team teach under the guidance of the classroom teacher to promote child development and learning build family and community relationships observe document and assess development. All teaching staff must adhere to ethical responsibilities to children to families to colleagues and to the community and society.

Responsibilities:

  • Interacting with children birth to kindergarten
  • Managing the classroom
  • Planning and evaluating the curriculum
  • Developmental Assessments
  • Working with families
  • Record Keeping
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings
  • Professional development
  • Setting the tone of the classroom
  • Organizing and collecting materials
  • Making Contacts within the professional field

Qualifications

Meet the minimum qualification for an Assistant Teacher per the State of MN guidelines (One of the following):

  • Baccalaureate degree in any field with 9 applicable quarter credits (can be in a variety of fields including Humanities and Social Sciences)

or

  • A high school diploma or with 2080 hours experience as an aide or student intern and12 quarter college credits

or

  • Certificate or credential for a two year program in child development or early childhood education at a Minnesota community college or technical college

or

  • Minnesota license as a family day care or group family day care provider

Beyond meeting the states qualifications we are looking for patient caring creative dependable caregivers with great communication skills.

Available MondayFriday between the hours of 7:30 am and 5:00 pm. 20 40 hours per week summer only or yearround.
