You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThis is a unique opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join Rabobanks UK legal team. The role which sits within the Legal Europe Africa & Asia (EAA) team and reports into the Regional Head Legal EAA will have a dual focus namely:
providing daytoday transaction support to the corporate lending business teams in Rabobank London and other offices within Region Europe Africa & Asia.
advising the Rabobank London branch on regulatory and governance matters.
You are expected to become a trusted advisor for senior stakeholders in the Rabobank London branch and accordingly should be comfortable representing Legal at management meetings.
The W&R Europe Africa & Asia Region is set up to serve wholesale clients in Europe Africa & Asia and to strengthen our commercial and operational effectiveness in the corporate market.
The Legal EAA team is responsible (interalia) for managing legal risk for the region including the provision of legal support to offices in Europe as well as organising legal transactional infrastructure and litigation support; the management of legal risks of the offices in Europe; and coordinating legal reporting to management for business units in Europe.
Qualified English solicitor
Proven experience as a senior inhouse legal counsel in a banking & financial services environment
Expert familiarity with negotiating and reviewing LMA investment grade and leverage lending documentation
Extensive drafting experience including preparing bilateral lending documentation using templates derived from LMA documentation
Experience in UK regulatory matters desirable
Experience in governance matters desirable
Business facing approach and ability to adapt
Excellent judgment analytical and problemsolving skills
Ability to anticipate legal issues or risks
Absolute integrity (highest professional and ethical standards and strong commitment)
Leads by example embodying the culture and values of the Bank
Credibility and maturity in dealing with people across a complex organisation with different cultures and geographies
Customer results and commercial focus
Strong interpersonal and client relationship / influencing skills
Assertiveness with the ability to challenge others in a constructive way
Able to manage and resolve conflict and other challenging issues
Able to proactively interact and develop credibility with colleagues at all levels of the Bank.
Ability and willingness to train junior members of the team
