Job Description

Parttime Case Management Worker

The InterCultural Association of Greater Victoria (ICA) isan awardwinning settlement agency that for more than fifty years has helpedensure that immigrants have a strong sense of belonging worth identity andare valued contributing members of the community. Together with our trustedcommunity partners donors and volunteers ICA provides innovative solutions tothe challenges faced by newcomers and services that range from mentoringimmigrant entrepreneurs to clinical counselling supports ensuring that ourcommunity including immigrants thrive and prosper.

We are looking for a parttime Case Management Worker who provides enhanced settlement integration services toimmigrants and refugees using traumainformed approaches. Provides Needs andAssets Assessment and Referral Services (NAARS) to clients using a CaseManagement Eligibility Assessment to clients. For multibarriered clients the CaseManagementWorker will deliver personalized and targetedsupport to address client needs strengthen personal capacity and fosterindependence. Provides oneonone support to individuals or family client navigation and workshops or individualized sessions on adaptingto life in Canada supports for high needs clients. Assists and may accompanyclients in accessing other communitybased resources. The focus of position maybe on particular client demographics e.g. youth or seniors women and LGBTQ2populations. Engages in enhanced settlement outreach to various areas withinthe Capital Regional District. Serves all individuals including BIPOC LGBTQ2and Indigenous. Reports to the Immigrant Settlement Services/Case ManagementCoordinator.

What you will bring to the role:

Minimum Grade12 Diploma (Undergraduate Degree preferred) in related discipline onsettlement/resettlementrelated themes case management family lawimmigration and refugee studies social work intercultural studies child andyouth care or combination of education training and experience.

Directexperience with settlement/resettlement service delivery and case management.

Experiencewith crosscultural conflict resolution and trauma informed practiceprinciples.

Keenunderstanding of diversity issues to work with persons from diverse culturaland ethnic backgrounds on settlement/resettlementrelated issues.

Three yearswork experience within social services notforprofit and/or multiculturalenvironment.

Knowledge ofcommunity resources.

Experienceworking with immigrants and refugees and understanding immigration issues.

Proficiency ina settlement/resettlement language preferred (Arabic Amharic Tigrinya FarsiSomalian or Dari).

A passion forhelping others and a positive mindset.

Someability to travel to community locations within Greater Victoria will berequired for the accompaniment of clients. Occasional travel to locations inother parts of British Columbia and/or Canada for purposes like professionaldevelopment networking or conferences may also be required.

Somework outside of regular office hours including evenings and weekends will berequired. Flex time schedules will be made to accommodate nonregular workhours.

This positionrequires proof of WHMIS training and clear criminal record check (includingvulnerable populations check).

Essential skills:

o Internet research and navigation.

o Demonstrable use of MSOffice products including Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint Teams SharePointand any other productivity software that supports the automation of processesand workflows.

o Basic graphic design(create posters and social media posts).

o Social media management(understanding of Facebook Instagram LinkedIn Twitter)

o Basic projectmanagement and team communication tools (Google Drive MS Teams One DriveZoom).

o Proficient with MSOffice and database management (iCare CRM OCMS CARMIS).

o Understanding of bestpractices of cybersecurity for data protection phishing prevention and securesystem use.

o Knowledge of ArtificialIntelligence technology cloud computing and cybersecurity (ChatGPT).

o Problem solvingtechniques.

Avalid BC drivers license and access to a car would be an asset.

Compensation and hours: This position starts at $27.61 per hour in Grid Level 3 Step 1 working 26 hours per week and requiresunion membership.
