Description of Work
This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Temporary employees who work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). Note: Permanent and timelimited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or timelimited position in order to work in a temporary position. All temporaries are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.
Individuals hired into a temporary State job must be fully qualified for the job. This temporary position is located in Raleigh Wake County.
The primary purpose of this position is to act as payroll clerk initiating processing and finalizing employee payroll. This position will work within the Budget & Grant Unit to ensure employees are paid on a monthly basis. This position will review reconciliation reports for Special Overtime Projects and Assignments and process grant funded overtime pay in the monthly payroll.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $25.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Public Safety. This position is located at 512 N. Salisbury St Raleigh NC 27604.Knowledge Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Highly proficiency with Fiori (BEACON) Outlook Word and Excel to prepare reports and data tracking. Ability to develop formulas for moderately complex spreadsheets.
- Demonstrate knowledge of technical accounting duties involving the maintenance and reporting of payroll data. Applies this knowledge of accounting methods procedures and practices to perform numerous tasks
- Observe monitor collect and record fiscal data and assess accuracy validity and integrity. Monitor activities and assess risks and quality control associated with program. Verify and ensure accuracy and validity of moderately complex transactions and examine accounting records to assure adherence to accounting standards and regulations.
- Must demonstrate ability to multitask work independently and meet multiple deadlines.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
