Sustainment & Restoration Services (SRS) is an 8(a) firm that provides engineering science construction munitions and specialized professional services solutions for customers nationwide.
SRS delivers fullservice facility and infrastructure engineering design environmental science construction management and munitions response services worldwide with over 25 years of successful project performance.
SRS currently has an immediate opening for Full Time Staff Geologist in our Ventura CA or Santa Barbara CA offices to provide field and office support for a diverse amount of environmental projects under oversight by midand senior level staff. The regular schedule will be Monday Friday working a minimum of 40 hours per week. We have an immediate opening for a Staff Geologist either the Ventura or Santa Barbara.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and understanding of all relevant work plans and health & safety plans prior to initiating field work.
- Responsible for field work preparation including ensuring all necessary subcontracts are in place all materials and equipment are in hand and any training or reviews are completed before hand.
- Fulfillment of data quality objectives (DQOs) for all field collected data and samples; responsible for data quality during prefield preparations field work execution sample management and documentation.
- Supervision of subcontractors (including but not limited to drilling and well installations) including all documentation.
- Lithologic/soil descriptions per standard references.
- Soil groundwater sediment surface water air and waste characterization sampling per established protocols and approved sampling and analysis plans.
- Complete all required field documentation; provide to project manager or archive as directed.
- Data management including but not limited to: data quality control from initial planning through final reporting receives and reviews for accuracy and completeness electronic data deliverables from subcontracted laboratories and third party data validators produces tables and graphs using MS Excel and other software performs database downloads and table formulation for reports and
- Assists in writing reports including sampling & analysis plans data quality reports sampling field reports and other monitoring reports.
- Develop groundwater elevation contour maps estimate gradients (horizontal vertical) flow directions including analytical and digital modeling.
- Produce data visualization products (work with CADD/GIS on products).
Project Support:
- Provide project management support such as tracking schedules preparing routine progress reports
- Support project procurement activities including developing subcontractor scopes of work researching subcontractors pricing tracking status of bids and coordinating with subcontract manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS or MS in geological or environmental sciences.
- 05 Years of previous experience
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced deadlinedriven environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) with a variety of individuals.
- Ability to exhibit a high degree of judgment and discretion in handling confidential information and situations.
- Problemsolving ability.
- Demonstrate high standards of personal and professional integrity and work ethic.
- Must be a highly organized and detailoriented team player.
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office (Outlook Excel Word Power Point MS Project) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Must be able to pass Federal Background Check in order to gain access to project sites.
- Must be able to pass DMV check and maintain acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to pass initial drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
- G.I.T. preferred working towards a P.G. registration
- OSHA 40hour HAZWOPPER training a plus.
- Environmental consulting experience a plus including hands on field experience with multimedia sampling operations maintenance and/or troubleshooting of remediation systems.
