JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Director of Technology the iPad Specialist is responsible for the comprehensive management support and maintenance of the districts iPad program. This position includes overseeing inventory configuring and managing devices through MDM providing technical support and repairs and ensuring secure and efficient deployment of applications and internet access tools.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of experience in technical support
- Previous experience with MDM Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid Iowa drivers license and ability to operate a motor vehicle
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages all aspects of the districts iPad inventory including distribution tracking maintenance collection and replacement to ensure accurate records and device accountability.
- Manages mobile device management (MDM) through Mosyle including enrolling configuring monitoring and resolving programrelated issues to ensure optimal device performance and security.
- Provides technical support and troubleshooting for iPad setup functionality hardware and related applications.
- Collaborates with district staff AEA personnel and parents to address and support the specific technology needs of students.
- Creates and manages Bookshare accounts offering ongoing training and support to students and educational staff.
- Performs regular cleaning and diagnostic routines on district iPads to maintain device longevity and functionality.
- Conducts inhouse iPad repairs using Apple Configurator reducing device downtime and minimizing external repair costs.
- Communicates effectively with vendors to coordinate and follow up on device repairs and service needs.
- Transports equipment to and from external repair facilities ensuring timely maintenance and return of district technology.
- Purchases and distributes applications through Apple School Manager in accordance with instructional and administrative needs.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with service providers to resolve technical issues related to websites and educational applications.
- Documents and maintains procedures for password resets Mosyle operations and Apple ID management to support consistency and staff training.
- Creates configures and manages districtissued MiFi devices to ensure reliable internet access for students and staff.
- Tracks and utilizes available resources to locate and recover districtissued iPads from students who have withdrawn or transferred out of the school district.
- Assists with installation of new software and upgrades.
- Engages in professional development to stay current with areas of responsibility.
- Completes required training.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Serves as a resource for addressing technologyrelated issues.
- Collaborates with technology colleagues to share best practices and troubleshoot challenges.
- Performs other jobrelated duties as assigned.

- Thorough knowledge of iPad hardware software features capabilities and operating iPadOS
- Proficient in iOS the App Store ecosystem and MDM platforms
- Excellent communication collaboration and customer service skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Frequent sitting standing and walking
- Occasional climbing squatting crouching kneeling bending and reaching above shoulder
- Regular use of hands and fingers to handle operate and feel objects tools or controls; frequent reaching with hands and arms
- Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. push and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Able to travel within district
- Primarily an indoor work environment in a school setting with occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions
