Job Description

The Department of Anesthesia is seeking a Clinical Technician I. This position under general supervision will perform specialized tasks and procedures in support of our Anesthesia providers before during and following patient procedures in various Operating rooms (MOR SFCH ASC OBGYN and satellite areas) across UI Health Care. Clinical Technicians will initiate clinical technical janitorial and logistic support in all anesthetizing locations including our operating rooms and satellite locations. The schedule for this position is Monday Friday 8:00 AM 4:30 PM.

Duties to include:

  • Provide care maintenance troubleshooting and instruction in the proper usage of anesthesia equipment and supplies in all anesthetizing locations.
  • Prepare all anesthetizing locations.
  • Perform daily assignments in patient care activities.
  • Continuous demonstration of teamoriented values.
  • Track inventory control including stocking the anesthesia workroom pharmacy dispensed medications and tracking expiration dates of stocked medications.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • One year of health care experience involving direct patient care.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff students patients and the public.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to collect data and maintain accurate records.
