Job Description
Dockworker/Forklift Operator 1st Shift
The Law Family Companies is a 6th generation family-owned and operated business dedicated to providing logistics solutions in the Maine New Hampshire and Vermont areas since 1882. BSP Trans Inc. has been providing the Maine New Hampshire and Vermont areas with outstanding LTL transportation services since 1970. At BSP our team consists of a six-terminal network across our coverage area to ensure swift deliveries for customers.
We have immediate openings for ourDockworker/Forklift Operator 1st Shiftposition
Full Time Mon thru Fri 4:00 AM Start
$22.00 to $23.00 per hour based off experience
$1000.00 Sign on Bonus
What you will do on a typical shift:
- Efficiently sort handle load and unload palletized and non-palletized freight
- Use appropriate motorized and manual equipment including pallet jack forklift and by hand
- Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies
- Work in a safe efficient manner adhering to company safety policies
- Work on a dock that is not climate-controlled for extended periods of time and may be slippery
- Lift freight and other objects of various shapes sizes and weights (up to 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 70 lbs. occasionally
- Be able to do math with and without a calculator
What you need at a minimum to succeed at BSP:
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work in a high paced team-oriented environment with great communication skills
- To be at least 18 years of age
It would be great if you also have:
- Dock/warehouse experience in the transportation industry
- Forklift experience in a freight/less-than-truckload environment
- Experience loading and unloading trailers
- Desire to succeed with a strong attention to detail
