Description:
The Summer School High School Teacher will provide engaging and effective instruction to high school students during the summer program at Tumwata Middle School. Students in this program will be eligible to earn credit. Responsibilities include building quick relationships with students utilizing districtapproved curriculum and resources to accelerate student learning collaborating on enrichment activities supporting student supervision and attendance and communicating with families. The teacher will contribute to a safe and equitable learning environment and participate in professional development prior to the programs start.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
Build relationships with students and establish a safe and positive classroom environment
Provide clear and effective grade level instruction differentiating for student learning needs
Monitor student learning and conduct summer school assessments as outlined
Follow summer school instructional scope and sequence utilizing approved resources to meet learner needs
Collaborate to create and implement handson interactive enrichment activities
Maintain student attendance records
Communicate with families and staff
Qualifications
Three years of teaching experience preferred
Oregon Certified Teacher License
Multilingual applicants preferred
Excellent communication and problemsolving skills
Understanding of instructional best practices as they relate to summer programming
Commitment to equitable and inclusive practices for all students

Professional development planning and room set up June 17th and 18th
Summer school calendar June 23rd July 14th (summer school hours Monday Friday 8:00am3:00pm). No school on Friday July 4th.
