NHTI Concords Community College
Position Type: Parttime adjunct
Semester: Fall 2025
Compensation: $800 $950 per credit based on adjunct faculty rank (determined by education and experience)

Position Overview:
NHTI is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach Patient Care. This course provides students with essential knowledge in Patientcare within an Orthopaedic setting focusing on practical applications and realworld relevance.

Course Details:

  • Course Name: ORTH 113c Orthopaedic Patient Care
  • Credits: 3
  • Lecture Hours: 2 hours weekly
  • Lab/Practicum Hours: 2 hours weekly
  • Schedule: Wednesdays 1pm
  • Location: NHTI Campus Concord NH

Course Description:
This course is an introduction to patient care in an Orthopaedic environment. Students will be introduced to the basic components of how an Orthopaedic Technologist should interact with patients their families and the Orthopaedic Surgeon. Topics to be covered will include communication medication patient safety patient transfer EMR recording OSHA/JCAHO HIPAA patient education and stress management. Students will learn how to take blood pressure/pulse basic orthopaedic terminology and abbreviations wound care routine and emergency procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach the assigned course using provided curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program standards.
  • Facilitate class discussions assignments and assessments to foster student engagement and learning.
  • Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies and standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Associates Healthcare OTC preferred
  • Experience: 3 years experience with Direct patient care
  • Residency: Must reside in NH VT ME MA RI or CT.
