Qualifications

  • QualificationsPossession of a Bachelor Degree from an accredited college with major coursework in computer science information systems a related field or equal job experience

Responsibilities

  • Description Purpose Under direction from the Superintendent plan direct organize and supervise the DistrictTechnology Department; assist in the development of district technology policies proceduresgoals: prepare department budget; interpret and apply existing policies; representDistrictTechnology on issues concerning the various programs managed
  • Distinguishing Characteristics Information Technology Coordinators duties are administrative/ supervisory in nature but alsoinvolve professional information technology work
  • This position will alsohandle core systems as they pertain to networking security and operations required fortechnology located in the district
  • Supervision Received and ExercisedReceives direction from the Superintendent or other assigned Manager
  • May exercise technical and functional supervision over technical positions i.e. IT Technician ITSystem Administrator IT Network Administrator and parttime interns
  • Principles and techniques used in technical writing
  • Industry technology practices and trends including system development andadministration
  • Principles and practices of complex computer system design
  • Principles and practices of research and analytical methodology
  • Principles and techniques of complex programming and programming documentation
  • Effective public presentation techniques
  • including project tracking and project control
  • Techniques for training users
  • Essential Functions: Functions may include but are not limited to the following: Assist and coordinate in the development and implementation of goals objectivespolicies and priorities for the technology department
  • Assure and implement a strong commitment to customer (staff and student) service;monitor and manage departmental customer satisfaction
  • Assist and coordinate with the preparation of operating technology funds
  • Assist and coordinate resource allocation planning and management to effectively assignwork tasks to team members
  • Confer with other departments campuses and programs regarding project priorities and progress; participate in planning progress and design review meetings
  • Confer with department staff campus leadership and administrative leaders in theaccomplishment of department objectives
  • Coordinate resolution of complex and technical problems and system changes that affectthe work of the department
  • Coordinate and conduct special assignments or projects
  • Coordinate department activities with those from other departments and campuses;provide staff assistance to higherlevel administration; prepare and present staff reportsas necessary and other necessary correspondence
  • Assist in preparation and administers department budget; Review budget requests forcomputer equipment; ensure connectivity of systems; coordinate between campusesdepartments purchasing unit and vendors in hardware and software acquisition
  • Assist with project cost controls
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures and assure they are carried out
  • Establish program and production goals priorities and major work schedules inaccordance with established direct and organize department activities in the area of network or applicationoperations; assign work activities and projects; monitor workflow; review and evaluatework products methods and procedures
  • Oversee thirdparty systems vendor sales and support; the installation configurationand cutover phases of a project;P
  • rovide professional IT consulting with departments on development projects; complexbusiness changes; and the implementation of emerging technologies
  • Participate in committees and work groups; may lead or participate in planning or focusgroups; may represent the department; maintain a variety of records and technical data
  • Prepare a variety of correspondence including general and special reports
  • Review and approve programming systems development and systems enhancementplans work orders review new and proposed laws regulations codes methodsmaterials and techniques for application to projects; develop and implement proceduresstandards and systems
  • Supervise the development of plans and estimates for systems development and majorenhancements of the School Districts technology systems; supervise and pMethodologies for project management in participate inthe preparation of special technology studies and reports
  • Perform related duties as assigned
  • Ability to: Properly interpret and make decisions in accordance with laws regulations and Districtpolicies
  • Analyze departmental technology system needs and requirements; identify goalsobjectives and problems examine alternatives; develop recommendations andimplement solutions; develop project plans; organize and monitor the work of others
  • Design and manage complex technology projects
  • Create training materials
  • Maintain a high level of customer service
  • Secure cooperation and teamwork among professional and technical develop test and implement complex systems
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive procedures and operations
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
