Job Description
Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Behavioral Health Practitioner to join our Melrose Center Team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.
Position Summary:
The Behavioral Health Practitioner provides care to patients experiencing eating disorders mental illness and/or substance use disorders and their families using deescalation skills group dynamics and facilitation. This includes assisting with crisis management therapeutic programming and milieu management as member of the care team. This role is instrumental in addressing emergent and urgent issues as needed.
Work Schedule:
.6 FTE; day evening and every other weekend.
Required Qualifications:
- Education Experience or Equivalent Combination:
- Must meet the criteria for Behavioral Health Practitioner in at least one of the following ways:
- Holds a bachelors degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university and has at least 2000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness.
- OR holds a bachelors degree and has at least 6000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness preferably in eating disorders.
- OR is a graduate student in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields and is formally assigned by an accredited college or university to an agency or facility for clinical training.
- OR holds a masters or other graduate degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university.
- Must meet the criteria for Behavioral Health Practitioner in at least one of the following ways:
- Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
- Must have a valid drivers license and meet the insurability requirements relating to Park Nicollets motor vehicle violation criteria.
- Behavioral Health Practitioner as defined by MN statute.
- CPR certification
- Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Strong human relations leadership and verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively problem solve and make sound decisions.
- Demonstrates knowledge of agerelated growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
- This position provides psychotherapy to patients and requires Park Nicollet to comply with the Minnesota Statute 148A.
- Ability to operate electronic health record EPIC and ability to use spreadsheet and word processing applications.
