Details:

Senior Project Manager Environmental Experience Concord CA

Our client is fully integrated environmental construction company delivering and implementing turnkey selfperform construction solutions to environmental challenges in soil vapor air and water (groundwater stormwater water/wastewater). They serve both public and privatesector clients with diversified service lines that include soil and groundwater remediation decommissioning/demolition sensitive habitat/waterway restoration and water/wastewater/air pollution treatment. They are a licensed Class A general engineering contractor in CA/WA/AZ/NV certified to perform hazardous substance removal. They also possess a California Demolition (C21) license. They employ 170 employees own and operate a large fleet of specialty and heavy equipment and carry a $125million bonding capacity.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and administer all project preconstruction efforts including internal job setup subcontracting vendor procurement buyouts scheduling submittals and plan writing.
  • Develop and submit monthly pay applications.
  • Administer estimatortoproject manager handoff meeting in accordance with clients Standard Operating Procedures and Project Management Workflow Process review project scope budget and best practices and tools for project execution and management. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path. Lead projectspecific team toward successful project completion.
  • Primary point of contact for all incoming and outgoing project information. Ensure proper distribution and central filing of project information to all team members and subconsultants.
  • Projectspecific cost tracking to administer the construction budget and client notification of changes in project scope including change order estimate preparation for outofscope work elements and written change order requests.
  • Review and approve all subcontractor monthly requisitions for payment including requisitions for final payment.
  • Coach mentor motivate and supervise project team members and contractors able to influence and empower a team to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Manage Superintendents and Foreman to ensure the Field Team knows their roles and responsibilities and holds them accountable for ownership of their work.
  • Foster build and develop business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Conduct project postmortems with recommendation reports to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • All other duties as assigned by Management.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Understanding of construction means and methods associated crew equipment and production rates.
  • Experience working both independently and in a teamoriented collaborative environment is essential.
  • Can conform to shifting priorities demands and timelines through analytical and problemsolving capabilities.
  • Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
  • Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
  • Persuasive encouraging and motivating.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources including upper management clients and other departments.
  • Skilled in managing potential conflicts within field project teams.
  • Ability to bring projects to successful completion under sometimes challenging conditions through proficient team management.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to hold Superintendents and Foremen accountable for their management of their Field Teams.
  • Adept at conducting research into projectrelated issues and products.
  • Must be able to learn understand and apply new technologies.
  • Skilled in prioritizing and executing tasks in a dynamic fastpaced environment. Familiarity with project management and estimating software (e.g. Viewpoint Vista B2W Heavy Job/Bid) is beneficial but not required. Training will be provided.
  • Knowledge of costing and earned revenue concepts such as the CosttoCost method of Earned Revenue Recognition for longterm construction contracts % Complete and AIA Progress Billings is beneficial but not obligatory. Training will be provided.
  • Technically competent with various software programs such as Excel word and MPP.


Details:

Education/Training

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering or related field desirable.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of direct work experience in a project management capacity.
  • Experience in environmental remediation projects desirable.
  • 40Hr HAZWOPER or 8Hr HAZWOPER Refresher is desirable or training will be provided.
  • Valid Drivers license and reliable transportation

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Regularly work around moving mechanical parts and equipment in outdoor conditions that include inclement weather heat and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times.

  • Must be able to recognize safety signs and signals both visually and audibly and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Regularly ascends/descends a ladder and/or stairs.
  • Must be able to operate hand and power tools.
  • Frequently moves equipment supplies and/or tools weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly required to position self stoop squat kneel crouch or crawl.
  • Use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs.
  • Requires good manual dexterity coordination and stamina.
