The Director of Student Support will oversee and lead the development and implementation of comprehensive support programs designed to meet the diverse needs of students within the district. This role is pivotal in ensuring equitable access to educational resources fostering inclusive learning environments and improving student outcomes. The Director
will work collaboratively with educators families and community stakeholders to enhance the overall effectiveness of special education services and student support initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State Administrator certificate
- Valid Washington State Teaching certificate with Special Education endorsement OR
- Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certificate
- Valid Washington State drivers license or evidence of mobility
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in special education or student support services with at least 2 years in a leadership or administrative role
- Experience and/or training with cultural ethnic and language diversity preferred
- Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance
- Proof of Immunization (if born 1/1/57 or later)
- I9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigrations Reform and Control Act
- Completion of all districtrequired trainings within thirty (30) calendar days from hire date

- Ability to create an ongoing system for evaluating the quality of IEP compliance and provide oversight on a regular basis to staff
- Knowledge of the roles of schoolbased specialists (Audiologists Occupational Therapists Physical TherapistsSpeech Language Pathologists School Psychologists)
- Knowledge of State and Federal laws regarding special education and services delivery in public schools
- Knowledge and skills in budget development fiscal management and program compliance; instructional leadership; dispute resolution; time management and organization; effective decision making problem solving and group facilitation; and interpersonal relations and collaboration
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
- Excellent leadership organizational and interpersonal skills

Essential Job Functions:

- Develop implement and manage the districts stratetic plan for student support services
- Supervise and provide professional development for staff members including special education teachers counselorsand support staff
- Ensure compliance with federal state and local regulations and guidelines
- Oversee budget planning and allocation for student support services ensuring effective use of resources.
- Design and evaluate programs that address student academic social emotional and behavioral needs
- Collaborate with school principals and teachers to tailor support services to meet individual student needs
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of support programs making datadriven decisions for improvements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with students families and community organizations
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between schools and external agencies
- Advocate for student needs and ensure that families are informed and engaged in the support process
- Ensure that student support plans are developed implemented and reviewed regularly
- Conduct regular reviews of student services to ensure quality and adherence to district policies/standards
- Address and resolve any issues related to student support services including disputes and grievances
- Maintain and analyze data related to student performance program effectiveness and service utilization
- Prepare and present reports on the status and outcomes of special education and student support services to the district leadership and school board
- Use data to inform strategic planning and decisionmaking processes
- Develop and implement a datadriven program to increase student achievement and meet student goals
- Ensure timely response to Federal State and local grants and reporting requirements
- Work with principals to develop an atmosphere of respect interest and enthusiasm for deliver services
- Model listening to and partnering with students staff and adults from diverse ethnic/cultural backgrounds
- Manage resources to meet legal requirements
- Professionally interact with students staff and public
- Comply with all district policies and procedures

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee will have flexible hours and some evening meetings are required.
Leadership initiative will structure job hours and environment. Work environment will include a wide variety of schoolmanagement and community settings. Meetings will be held with many diverse constituency groups including staff
students parents and community members networking in the region. Environments requiring sensitivity expertise in investigations and skills in conflict resolution will likely occur. The employee is exposed to infectious diseases carried by
children. The noise level in the work environment is acceptable to this environment and can vary depending upon daily activity but will remain within acceptable ranges. The employee may be confined to a work area; required to have precise
control of fingers and hand movements; experience constant interruptions and inflexible deadlines; and must be able to stoop crouch crawl bend kneel stand for periods of time and. The employee is required to deal with distraught and/or angry persons and is exposed to infectious diseases carried by children.
Evaluation:
This position shall be evaluated periodically by the Executive Director pursuant to the currently established district
procedures and evaluation criteria. The process shall include an evaluation of the employees performance of the above
