Job Description

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

POSITION SPECIFICS

The Penn State University Libraries seek a collaborative and engaged Head of the Schreyer Business Library to manage the services programs collections and faculty and staff in this department that is based at the University Park campus and supports the success of students faculty and staff in related disciplinary areas across Penn State. The Head of the Schreyer Business Library directly manages and mentors a team of faculty and staff employees.

Additionally the Head of the Schreyer Business Library closely collaborates with University Libraries colleagues and University Libraries stakeholders to cooperatively develop and advance the vision for subject libraries; liaison roles; reference outreach and instructional services; and collections at Penn State University Libraries. This position reports to the Associate Dean for Learning and Engagement and is a member of the Learning and Engagement Leadership Team and the University Libraries Leadership Council.

    Application Instructions:

A candidates application materials are expected to provide clear evidence of their commitment to and the impact of the principles of equity diversity inclusion and accessibility throughout their librarianship teaching research and/or service.

    Candidates also must provide four professional references indicating their professional relationship to each reference. References will be contacted later in the search process. While furnished references are at the candidates discretion references must include at a minimum a current/previous direct supervisor a Library or associationrelated colleague a current or former direct report and one at the candidates discretion. Review of applications will begin in early June and will continue until the position is filled.

    Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. Due to the financial and fiduciary responsibilities of this position successful completion of a credit history check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
