Job Description
Are you ready to bring your manufacturing shop skills to a team that values precision and innovation At Martin Sprocket & Gear were dedicated to producing quality mechanical power transmission components material handling systems and custom forgings with excellence and were looking for skilled Finishing Equipment operatorslike you!
What Youll Do:
- Task Execution: Follow process sheets blueprints and written/verbal instructions from the supervisor to complete production tasks.
- Material Handling: Maneuver large awkward or heavy parts manually or using a crane.
- Machine Operation: Set up operate and monitor machines used for processing components.
- Fixture Installation: Install align and secure dies punches blades or other machine fixtures to ensure safe machine operation.
- Workplace Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe workspace including routine machine maintenance.
- Quality Control: Inspect work to ensure it meets predetermined tolerances and quality standards.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and wear the required PPE for the entire shift.
- Team Support: Assist in other areas or departments as needed
What Youll Bring:
- Math skills: Requires average math skills with the ability to read and comprehend instructions written in English and complete simple logs and reports in English.
- Physical capability: Must be physically able to handle heavy items including lifting pushing pulling and positioning components.
- Policy/procedure compliance: Must be able to work scheduled hours and comply with the companys timekeeping policy and all other company policies.
- Stamina: Must be able to stand consistently for an entire shift in a nonclimatecontrolled shop environment.
- Machining knowledge: Ability to learn fundamental machining concepts and demonstrate proficiency in using measuring devices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members including supervisors to optimize production processes and implement improvements.
- Accuracy: Attention to detail is essential for maintaining quality standards.
- Reliability: Demonstrates a strong commitment to dependability and consistent performance.
- Adaptable precision: Detailoriented with the flexibility to respond effectively to shifting production demands.
