You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer with a minimum of 7 years post graduate experience.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering complex geotechnical design solutions across major infrastructure projects including highways motorways rail active travel schemes and drainage works.
This is a crucial position within our Geotechnical team supporting the delivery of multidisciplinary design projects for both public and private sector clients across Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage geotechnical input on largescale civil infrastructure projects.
Prepare and review geotechnical design calculations reports specifications and drawings.
Provide technical mentorship to junior staff within the geotechnical team.
Undertake ground investigation scoping design supervision and interpretation.
Collaborate with civil structural and environmental engineering teams.
Liaise with project stakeholders clients and contractors during design and construction phases.
Ensure that all geotechnical design work is delivered to the highest quality and safety standards in accordance with Eurocodes and Irish/UK standards.
Qualifications :
Required Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering (Masters degree preferred).
Minimum 7 years postgraduate experience in geotechnical design engineering.
Proven experience working on large civil infrastructure projects within a busy consultancy environment.
Strong experience in the design and analysis of earthworks foundations retaining structures and ground improvement techniques.
Proficient in geotechnical design software (e.g. PLAXIS SLOPE/W WALLAP Settle3 etc.).
Chartership (CEng or approaching Chartered status) with Engineers Ireland or equivalent.
Excellent communication and report writing skills.
Desirable Skills
Experience working in multidisciplinary teams on TII Irish Rail or NTAled projects.
Familiarity with BIM processes and digital design workflows.
Project management and clientfacing experience.
