By supporting manual and automated testing efforts the Test Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability reliability and quality of Lens Desktop the worlds most popular IDE for Kubernetes developers trusted by over 700000 DevOps professionals globally. Lens continues to evolve as a cutting-edge platform empowering users with powerful features and seamless workflows that enhance their Kubernetes role goes beyond executing test cases: you will take ownership of scalable test automation BDD practices and QA process optimization while fostering collaboration across Product Development and QA. Your work will directly impact the stability reliability and user experience of Lens Desktop.
Key Responsibilities
Test Automation & BDD
Design implement and maintain a scalable test automation framework with Playwright as the primary tool.
Translate acceptance criteria into Gherkin scenarios ensuring business goals are captured in executable tests.
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions) to enable fast and reliable feedback is a plus.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
Experience with managing and maintaining test management tools (e.g. TestRail Zephyr Xray) ensuring traceability between user stories manual test cases and automated tests.
Promote a quality-first culture mentoring team members and sharing QA best practices.
Manual & Exploratory Testing
Conduct exploratory testing and risk-based analysis focusing on critical workflows and system stability.
Validate new features bug fixes and regression areas through smart focused manual testing.
Qualifications :
Hands-on expertise in Playwright (mandatory).
Additional experience with similar automation tools such as Cypress or Selenium is a plus.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript for writing maintainable automated test scripts.
Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber Jest-Cucumber SpecFlow) and Gherkin syntax.
Proven track record of integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitHub Actions).
Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum Kanban) and collaborative QA practices.
Experience with Docker Kubernetes and cloud-native environments is beneficial.
Relevant QA certifications (e.g. ISTQB) are a plus.
