AECOM Mississauga is currently seeking a Civil Construction Administrator Rail Infrastructure to support a clientbased assignment in the Greater Toronto Area. This role focuses on contract oversight for railrelated infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary site representative operating independently under the overall direction of the Project Manager.
- Collaborate closely with the client and internal project teams to offer constructionrelated input evaluate proposed work approaches verify safety documentation support permitting processes and coordinate access to work zones and rail corridors.
- Oversee all contract administration activities onsite and lead the fieldbased project team.
- Organize facilitate and document all projectrelated meetings ensuring accurate and timely distribution of minutes.
- Work with engineering and client teams to resolve technical and onsite challenges.
- Monitor construction quality and progress assess contractor performance evaluate schedules payment applications and contract modifications and ensure environmental and regulatory compliance.
- Analyze and respond to project developments including delay claims change requests and other construction issues; provide expert insights and technical solutions.
- Produce consistent reportingdaily weekly and monthlycomplete with photo documentation highlighting key milestones and concerns.
- Perform routine inspections to validate compliance with contract requirements.
- Supervise contractor activity including timelines access coordination logistics environmental safeguards testing and handover procedures.
- Maintain frequent site presence including occasional overnight or weekend visits if required.
- Promote safe delivery of works by ensuring adherence to all client safety and compliance frameworks.
- Support planning efforts by contributing constructability input and participating in route planning and coordination activities using clientspecified tools.
- Engage with various stakeholders to ensure construction objectives are met efficiently safely and in alignment with broader project goals.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications:
- A degree in Civil or Construction Engineering and at least 4 years of related experience or a diploma combined with 6 years of handson experience in site inspections contract management and civil infrastructure oversight.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario or able to obtain licensure within 6 months.
- A minimum of 4 years working within active railway corridors for a Class 1 rail operator.
- Ability to pass eRailSafe background screening and meet eligibility requirements for secure site access.
- This role may require travel to multiple job sites that are not accessible by public transit. A valid drivers license and access to a personal vehicle are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Over 15 years of experience in heavy civil construction inspection contract administration and field supervision.
- Ideally 8 years bridge CA experience
- Extensive experience15 yearsworking within railway rightsofway for major rail operators.
- Strong background administering construction contracts for infrastructure projects including transit facilities bridges tunnels signals parking and rail track systems.
- Skilled in reviewing construction schedules identifying critical path issues and analyzing project delays and impacts.
- Familiarity with safety and logistics requirements for construction within rail corridors is an asset.
- Possession of certifications such as Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA) or OACETT designations (C.E.T. .T.) is preferred.
- Previous experience on road and transportation infrastructure projects is considered an advantage.
