The New York County District Attorneys Office (DANY) has openings for Security Investigators in its Investigation Bureau. In this position under supervision with some latitude for independent judgment and initiative the Investigator is responsible for conducting a wide variety of criminal investigations. This is a sworn police officer position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Investigates securityrelated incidents crimes or threats.
Conducting managing and updating ongoing criminal investigations.
Conducting fieldwork consisting of surveillance and various undercover operations.
Reviewing facts to ascertain their validity.
Maintain the safety security and control of the building at all times.
Control access to the building and verify identification.
Prevent unauthorized access/trespassers into the building.
Screen visitors and inspect packages briefcases and handbags.
Complete accurate reports by recording observations information and occurrences as required.
Alert management of anything suspicious and notify emergency services if necessary.
assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; establish schedules and methods for providing effective security; implement approved policies and procedures.
Use various City databases to perform background and information searches such as: eJustice IIS IFCOM Webcrims Google and various watchdog registries.
Perform related tasks as assigned.
In addition to the Minimum Qualification Requirements candidates must possess the following:
Level 1 Bachelors degree from an accredited college OR High school graduation and two (2) years of fulltime paid experience in police enforcement or investigative work.
Level 2 Bachelors degree from an accredited college AND one (1) year of investigative work OR High school graduation and three (3) years of fulltime paid experience in police enforcement or investigative work.
Level 3 Bachelors degree from an accredited college AND two (2) years of investigative work OR High school graduation and four (4) years of fulltime paid experience in police enforcement or investigative work.
Level 4 Bachelors degree from an accredited college AND three (3) years of investigative work OR High school graduation and five (5) years of fulltime paid experience in police enforcement or investigative work.
Must have a valid NYS drivers license.
Must pass a medical exam drug test psychological screening and an intensive background check.
Preferred Requirements/Skills:
Licensed to carry a firearm.
Bilingual Mandarin Cantonese or Korean preferred.
Bilingual Spanish preferred.
Prior law enforcement or criminal justice experience.
Excellent interpersonal organizational written and verbal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel and Access.
Must possess the ability and readiness to quickly learn and use various industry relevant computer software.
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workflow.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple shortterm projects.
Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies procedures and guidelines.
Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a teamoriented environment.
Must be able to perform under pressure in a fastpaced environment detail oriented selfmotivated and able to multitask.
Ability to interact with all levels of staff and other law enforcement agencies.

Additional Information:
Current office employees: To be eligible for a transfer or promotion staff must have already served at least one (1) year in their current unit/bureau/department and be in good standing. In addition must meet the minimum and additional qualifications of the position.
Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position.

Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college; or
