We are looking for a handson peoplefirst Manager to lead our Digital Commerce team. In this role youll balance technical depth with leadershipguiding engineers enhancing our CI/CD infrastructure and ensuring timely delivery of scalable solutions. Youll cultivate a culture of ownership drive performance and ensure clear documentation for longterm team success.
What Youll Do
Lead & Develop Teams (30%)
Mentor and grow a team of talented engineers creating a culture of trust collaboration and accountability
Set clear expectations provide regular performance feedback and support individual development plans
Drive Technical Excellence (25%)
Review and guide code primarily in Java (Spring MVC & Spring Boot) maintaining high standards for architecture performance and maintainability
Assist in handson development when necessary and help make key architectural decisions
Improve CI/CD & Engineering Operations (15%)
Champion CI/CD best practices; own the health of our build test and deployment pipelines
Collaborate with DevOps and QA to ensure stability and speed of delivery
Resolve Issues & Guide Escalations (15%)
Lead and support rootcause investigations of technical issues
Ensure the team is unblocked by helping troubleshoot problems or involving the right experts from other teams
Collaborate Across Teams (10%)
What Were Looking For
6 years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years in a people management role
Strong coding skills in Java with handson experience using Spring Boot Spring MVC and MySQL
Familiarity with LuceneSearch or other search engine technologies
Experience leading teams through design development deployment and production support
Solid knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and agile development practices
Exceptional problemsolving communication and collaboration skills
Bonus Points
Experience working with containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes)
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP)
Passion for mentoring and career development
Prior experience improving teamwide documentation practices
Partner with Product QA Operations and crossfunctional teams to align priorities and roadmaps
Provide clear timely updates to stakeholders on progress risks and tradeoffs
Strengthen Documentation & Knowledge Sharing (5%)
Encourage engineers to document feature behavior decisions and integrations
Contribute to and enforce standards for internal documentation to support onboarding and continuity
