Job Description
Job Title: Systems Engineer
Location: Occasional visits to Southampton site (3/4x per month)
Employment Type: Fulltime Permanent
Sectors: Maritime
ALTEN is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the development of nextgeneration uncrewed vessels used in complex offshore operations. This role is critical to ensuring the safety functionality and compliance of cuttingedge maritime systems as they move towards a key testing and demonstration phase.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define what the vessel needs to achieve and identify the required onboard systems.
- Perform structured risk assessments and safety analysis aligned with the topleft of the Vmodel.
- Capture manage and document systemlevel requirements and architecture.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to prove system safety and operational readiness.
- Support the validation process through clear documentation and traceability of requirements.
Qualifications :
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in relevant engineering field (Candidates with exmilitary experience are encouraged to apply)
- Systems engineering background within a regulated industry (e.g. defence aerospace rail automotive).
- Experience with requirements management system safety and architecture development.
- Confident producing documentation and gathering technical input from multidisciplinary teams.
- Deliveryfocused and capable of working independently to meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with control systems systemofsystems thinking or systems integration is beneficial.
