Reports To: Restaurant Managers Director of Food & Beverage
General Purpose: The Barista is an engaging and enthusiastic ambassador for the restaurant and hotel makes recommendations to guests based on verbal and nonverbal cues and is a passionate salesperson for both the menu and the gift shop. The Barista works accurately efficiently expertly prioritizes and works to exceed guest expectations.
Specific Responsibilities:
Reports to work on time and ready to work scheduled shifts.
Follows all steps of service.
Knows drink names ingredients method of preparation appropriate glassware and garnishes.
Can speak confidently and enthusiastically on gift shop items.
Makes all coffee and tea drinks on the menu with enthusiasm and care.
Sells menu items and gift shop items with the goal of increasing overall sales.
Serves beverages and food in a cheerful and efficient manner.
Ensures that service and cash wrap stations are appropriately stocked.
Runs room service to hotel guests as needed.
Completes daily inventory and informs servers/managers of any changes.
Accurately and efficiently uses POS to ring guests orders accept payment and close checks.
Labels stocks and merchandise items in the gift shop.
Completes all posted opening/closing duties and side work.
Maintains a positive friendly attitude with teammates & guests.
Provides prompt accurate report of all income received during shift.
Maintains a clean orderly appearance of the gift shop and restaurant service area.
Assists/executes any and all tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Follow all proper sanitation guidelines.
Other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.
Verifies guests are at least 21 when purchasing a beverage containing alcohol.
Sells beverages responsibly with the customers best interest in mind.
Qualifications :
Able to work flexible hours (nights weekends).
Responsible dependable punctual.
Basic math skills.
Strong communication skills.
Clean and professional appearance.
Demonstrates enthusiasm for all things 21c.
Must pass a background check.
Education/Formal Training:
High school or equivalent education required.
Experience in a breakfast restaurant coffee shop or retail shop preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to carry a fullservice tray comfortably.
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.
