Job Summary: The ORAnesthesia Materials Support Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating materials and supply support for the Operating Room and Anesthesia departments. This includes managing general and specialty supplies surgical instruments and ensuring timely purchasing delivery and inventory control.
This role oversees LEANdriven supply management processes maintains regulatory compliance and ensures adherence to Supply Chain protocols. The position coordinates closely with Supply Chain Biomed Sterile Processing OR and Anesthesia Coordinators and departmental leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Materials Management & Operations
- Collaborate with specialty coordinators nurses physicians and anesthesia leads to support material needs for procedures.
- Ensure OR supply technicians maintain accurate inventory and timely replenishment.
- Oversee materials handling and management processes across teams.
- Implement and enforce Supply Chain policies and procedures in daily operations.
- Manage surgical and anesthesia supply orders including specialty instruments and loaner items.
- Participate in value analysis for supply selection and usage.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure safe efficient and compliant materials management for the OR and Anesthesia departments.
- Supervise materials staff and ensure competency in supply handling processes.
- Maintain readiness for regulatory inspections; oversee adherence to infection control standards.
- Manage recall processes (RASMAS) and ensure proper handling of affected items.
- Identify and implement improvements in resource use storage and process efficiency.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient data and sensitive materials.
Leadership & Communication
- Lead train and support materials staff; develop education and orientation programs.
- Communicate clearly with clinical teams and support departments.
- Handle challenges calmly and professionally in highpressure environments.
- Promote a respectful collaborative workplace and model critical thinking and problemsolving.
- Lead and support performance improvement and change initiatives.
- Ensure alignment with Supply Chain leadership and CNHS policies and contracts.
Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications listed below (along with education/experience) are representative of the knowledge skills and abilities needed to perform this job successfully. - High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree preferred.
- 4 years experience in supply chain/distribution operations including experience leading a team.
- 4 years experience in healthcare supply chain/distribution operations or in perioperative areas and operations.
- Ability to analyze data to inform and execute actionable decisions.
- Demonstrates ability to apply critical thinking and problemsolving skills for improving efficiencies and operational activities.
- Ability to proactively address issues and implement solutions for resolution.
- Demonstrates professionalism in all interactions by projecting a positive attitude to the job workplace and others.
- Proficiency in using ERP Applications the Microsoft Office suite especially Word and Excel businesssensitive informationand CNHS intellectual property.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand and sit for extended periods of time crouch push/pull and lift up to 40lbs
- Ability to stand walk and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to perform basic functions on a handheld device with appropriate training.
- Ability to work nonpeak hours to complete inventory/Maintenace as needed.
