- Clearance Requirements: National Background Check with Inquiries Fingerprints and Drug Screen.
- Type of Employment: Full Time Onsite 40 hours per week.
- Estimate Pay: $30.32 $35.25/hour.
- Paid Time Off per Year: Up to 80 hours per year occurring on day one.
- Sick Leave per Year: Up to 56 hours per year occurring on day one.
- Paid Federal Holidays: Eleven (11) Paid Federal Holidays
Working Hours:
Work hours will generally be between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. with an unpaid 30minute lunch each day Monday through Friday excluding federal holidays and will not exceed five (5) days a week forty (40) hours per week.
Qualifications
- Certified as a Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT).
- Licensed as a Radiology Technologist by the State of Florida.
- At least three (3) years of experience.
- Documentation of graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
- CardioPulmonary Resuscitation certified per the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

The contractor is expected to always wear professional attire. The attire worn shall also be appropriate for the correctional environment in which the contract employee will be performing. Radiologic Technologists are permitted to wear scrub uniforms. Jeans (of any color) tshirts sandals tank tops and sweatpants/shirts are not considered appropriate professional attire.
Duties And Responsibilities
Follow Radiology Technician services including but not limited to the items listed below. Therefore the contractor shall be capable of performing all radiology procedures
needed without any technical support. The current radiological equipment provided at the institution is a Siemens CR machine and a GE Digital Machine. Knowledge of CR and fully digital equipment is preferred but not required.
- Perform routine radiologic procedures ordered by the medical staff for the AIC population at the institution.
- Transmit retrieve Xray images and reports electronically and scan reports into the Adults in Custody (AICs) Bureau Electronic Medical Record (BEMR).
- Receive training to retrieve radiographic consultants from BEMR and schedule them to perform all radiographic procedures.
- Work with an AIC population from various cultural racial religious and ethnic backgrounds.
- Evaluate radiographic equipment for calibrations and repairs.
- Possess knowledge of basic emergencies that may occur during special radiographic procedures.
- Schedule exams and maintain records.
- Possess knowledge of various pathological abnormalities as demonstrated by radiographic imaging.
- Independently assess and select technical exposure factors and positions necessary to obtain a proper quality
- diagnostic exam. Receive patients and explain procedures to alleviate undue anxiety.
- Independently perform all radiographic procedures i.e. chest bone skull spine and portable xrays.
- Notify Radiologist or referring Physician of any preliminary abnormalities seen while the patient is undergoing
- an exam so that additional views or exams can be ordered if needed.
- Coordinate transfer of patient radiologic records to ensure continuity of care.
- Work with the Clinical Director to ensure monitoring and evaluation activities are completed.
- Act as liaison between radiologist and medical staff.
- Develop a working knowledge of the local medical protocols.
- Wear outer protective clothing and always obey the Centers for Disease Control and Preventions universal precautions.
- Function in other duties commensurate with a Radiology Technician.
- Computerization and printing of the daily log
- Computerization and printing of exam requisitions.
- Printing of all folders and exam labels.
- Completing all xray studies ordered by the medical staff.
- Preparing Xrays for shipment to the radiologist for interpretation.
- Transport of Xrays to a radiologist for interpretation.
- Transport all xrays from the radiologist after interpretation.
- Assisting the staff with the maintenance of equipment and supplies and notifying staff when supplies are needed.
- Conducting quality assurance tests and daily maintenance on xray equipment as needed.
- Assisting with FDA inspections and preparation for TJC and program review as needed.
- Assuring that all Xray requests are correctly completed.
- Computerization of patient logs and repeat analysis.
