Job Description

Role Overview
Join the team behind one of the most prestigious track and field meets in the world held at one of the sports most iconic venues. Were assembling a small dynamic group of volunteers to support the 50th edition of the Prefontaine Classic a Wanda Diamond League event at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon.
This is a handson opportunity suited for professionals with experience in track and field operations to help a worldclass meet run smoothly.
Over the course of the week youll rotate through key functional areas and work directly with elite athletes officials volunteers athlete representatives and event leadership. Youll also be part of a team of professionals working in similar roles across different programs and organizations creating a unique space to share insights learn from one another and build lasting connections while contributing to a worldclass event.

Your Week Will Include
Youll rotate through three main functional areas: Athlete Services Competition and Event Presentation to support the athlete experience help run meetday logistics and contribute to the instadium show.

Roles may include the following:
  • Assisting with athlete welcome checkin logistics and transportation
  • Supporting practice and warmup flow areas at Hayward Field
  • Monitoring event and competition communications
  • Distributing competition event equipment and information
  • Coordinating athlete introductions and infield activities
  • Troubleshooting onsite needs for officials athletes and/ or staff
  • Assisting with postcompetition flow including athlete interviews and victory laps
  • Providing leadership management motivation and support to assigned project teams
  • Ensuring excellent customer service and quality delivery in assigned areas
  • Working all hours assigned including weekends and holidays if necessary

Were recruiting team players who are calm under pressure quick to adapt and ready to contribute wherever needed. This role is unpaid but its highimpact and highreward.
Ideal candidates have:
  • Experience in college track and field operations
  • A desire to broaden their experience within elitelevel sport environments
  • Strong communication service and collaboration skills
  • A proactive mindset attention to detail and ability to handle fastpaced event days

The Details
  • Dates: Arrival to Eugene on June 30 2025 and departure on July 6 2025.
  • Location: Eugene Oregon
  • What we provide: Lodging meals and intown transportation

Volunteers are responsible for transportation to Eugene.
