Job Summary: The Press Brake Operator II must be an individual who can adapt to a fast paced Sheetmetal shop environment focusing on ontime delivery of parts. This person must have a strong work ethic be willing to learn and ask questions about manufacturing processes. They will be responsible for setting up and operating the press brake under minimal supervision while also forming parts. This person must be able to efficiently produce high quality parts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Operate Press Brake safely with minimal assistance
- Set up machine with proper tooling required to produce products
- Ability to check parts to print (angles and measurements)
- Adjust machine as necessary to produce parts to print
- Ability to Set up machine to be able to produce hems and offset bends
- Form parts with multiple bends (6)
- Handle parts with care to avoid damage
- Other duties as assigned
TECHNICAL/ BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Basic knowledge on angles and measurements
- Basic shop math
- Ability to use basic inspection equipment height gage calipers pins and protractors
- Demonstrates motivation and accountability to achieve individual and department goals
- Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with team members
- Demonstrates initiative and personal accountability to meet work demands and work effectively under pressure with little supervision
- Exercises sound judgment in ambiguous situations when time is critical
- Shows willingness to offer knowledge and insight to develop team members
- Ability to respond and adapt quickly to changing circumstances and facility needs
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to effectively produce high quality work
- Demonstrates teamwork by sharing knowledge and helping where needed
EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Experience in prototyping is a plus
- 23 years experience forming/manufacturing required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computers equipment hand/power tools etc. and handle and feel parts of various size
- Ability to bend kneel and crouch occasionally throughout the shift
- Ability to push pull or lift 50 lbs. moderately throughout the workday
- Ability to focus vision for: close vision color vision depth perception and adjusting to sharp focus
- Noise conditions can be moderate to extreme. Hearing protection will be provided if needed and/or by request
- Exposure to fumes and/or airborne particles
- Moving mechanical parts and vibration
- Fastpaced environment

- 5 8hour shifts
