Visualization as a Service Lead

Position Summary:

Sev1Tech is seeking an experienced Visualization as a Service Lead with data science and project management expertise for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). The ideal candidate will have advance expertise in tools and methods including statistics algorithmic techniques probabilistic models and data analysis. This role requires advanced skills in data science machine learning and inferencing to uncover insights that drive actions to support CISAs mission to lead the national effort to understand manage and reduce risk to our cyber and physical infrastructure. This role also supports program and project management to include reporting progress and activities in all task areas coordinating and reporting on project work as directed by the Government project managers and leads conducting kickoff meetings and performing transition in/out activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop implement and optimize statistical models to analyze structured and unstructured datasets.
• Use appropriate statistical techniques to extract insights and inform strategic decisionmaking.
• Design and implement algorithmic solutions tailored to DHS requirements focusing on regression text analytics classification clustering and anomaly detection. Evaluate and measure the impact of the data science solution.
• Implement MLOps practices to ensure seamless deployment monitor and retraining to ensure models are robust scalable and aligned with DHSs mission.
• Continuously enhance data quality across multiple dimensions such as accuracy availability performance and accessibility.
• Translate complex data into actionable intelligence by applying theories from mathematics statistics and computer science. Conduct inferencing to derive hidden patterns and relationships within data.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and crossfunctional teams to provide datadriven insights and recommendations that support DHSs strategic priorities policies and response plans.
• Work with various data sources ensuring quality integrity and integration across multiple datasets. Utilize tools to preprocess clean and organize data effectively.
• Create and maintain documentation for developed machine learning models.
• Provide endtoend program leadership from planning to business readiness/rollout.
• Identify strategic milestones in concert with business and/or mission stakeholders and tie work packages to milestones.
• Work in a program coordination / senior project management capacity.
• Communicate and manage project status to internal project teams and those at the executive level.
• Set and continually manages expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
• Identify and resolvee and/or escalates roadblocks issues and conflicts within the team promptly. Shields the team from interruptions.
• Leverage stakeholder relationships and technical expertise to enable or make critical decisions.

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Data Science Statistics Mathematics Computer Science or a related field. Ph.D. preferred.
• Proven experience in data science statistics and algorithmic modeling preferably in a governmental or highly regulated environment.
• Proven experience in the entire data science development life cycle. Emphasis on feature engineering and MLOps.
• Proven experience building and deploying models from scratch along with enhancing existing machine learning models.
• Proficient in programming languages (e.g. Python Scala SQL) and data science libraries.
• Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis probability theory and inferencing techniques.
• Familiarity with cloudbased data platforms and big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop Spark).
• Experience with cloud ML solutions.
• Ability to work with sensitive data uphold data privacy and adhere to security protocols.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex data insights for nontechnical stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies and solution architectures from leading vendors such as Microsoft Azure AWS and Google Cloud.
• Experience managing projects using traditional and agile methodologies with a focus on multicloud platforms including integration testing deployment and monitoring.
• Proven track record of successful project delivery with excellent communication collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to work autonomously prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Technical knowledge of IT operations and infrastructure including networks servers storage and cloud technologies.
• Comfortable with drafting and presenting executivelevel briefings.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

This is a fulltime position that requires 2 days per week onsite in Arlington VA

Clearance Preference:

• DHS EOD 1st priority
• Any DHS badge DoD Top Secret or Secret 2nd choice
• DoD Secret or Top Secret willingness to get EOD clearance 3rd choice (it can take 45 days to obtain EOD clearance work can only begin once the clearance is fully adjudicated)
