The Parts Counter Sales position performs a variety ofcustomer service in store marketing and stocking duties related to the saleshipping and receiving of parts that contribute to the efficient safe andprofitable operation of the parts department.
Essential Duties andResponsibilities:
Workwith the Service Department to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed forinternal jobs and provide service technicians with parts as required.
Quoteparts pricing for both shop and road repairs in a timely manner.
Sourceand secure nonstock parts pricing and availability from various vendors forshop and road jobs.
Answerquestions provide price quotes inform of companion part requirements andparts specials to both walkin and phonein customers.
Keepinternal and external customers informed on the status of special and/orbackordered parts and notify them when the parts arrive.
Followprescribed cash credit and check processing procedures when conductingtransactions at the parts counter.
Addparts to work orders from parts requisitions and green sheets.
Pulland process parts as necessary for service van replenishment.
Processcores parts warranties and vendor returns as required.
Ensurethat credits are processed and issued correctly.
Notifythe Corporate Parts Manager of out of stock parts and or shop materials thatrequire immediate attention.
Locateout of stock parts from outside sources and submit emergency orders asnecessary.
Ensurethat technicians are submitting properly completed parts requisitions whenrequesting parts.
Other Duties andResponsibilities:
Keepparts department neat and orderly.
Conductmonthly service vehicle inspections.
Maintaincustomer goodwill by greeting and acknowledging all customers.
Usecompany resources and equipment safely and proficiently.
Handlecustomer complaints and concerns in a professional manner.
Attendall departmental meetings and training as required.
Assistwith resolution of stock and order issues.
Participatein preparing and taking annual physical inventory.
Bealert to practices that waste supplies utilities and time.
Answerphone calls providing price quotes and other information.
Anyand all other duties as assigned by management.
QualificationRequirements:
HighSchool Diploma or equivalent.
Goodorganizational skills.
Minimum2 years of experience in a parts department.
Mustdemonstrate communication and organizational skills to include the ability toapply logic and constructive thinking to solve problems.
Provideeffective oral and written communications to customers management and vendors.
Performmathematical calculations including decimals and percentages.
Mustbe PC literate and possess a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft ExcelWord and Outlook.
Aworking knowledge of service operations and computerized parts programs.
Mustbe able to push pull lift or move up to 50 lbs.
