The Department of Human Services is seeking a motivated and compassionate Drug and Alcohol Treatment Specialist 2 to provide support to individuals at Torrance State Hospital. As a Drug and Alcohol Treatment Specialist 2 you will be responsible for the care treatment and rehabilitation of residents within a drug and alcohol abuse treatment program at Torrance State Hospital. In this position you will provide assessments and counseling relevant to alcohol and drug problems with selected patients diagnosed with cooccurring disorders. You can expect to coordinate with other professionals and contribute to treatment planning staff education and performance improvement activities related to alcohol and drug abuse treatment. Additionally you will work with clients who are involved in the legal system and who may face challenges with the legal system or when returning to the community.
