Title: FullTime Early Dark (Vocational) Teacher

Description: Teach the following Vocational Technical Education Framework Strands

  • Strand One: Safety and Health Knowledge
  • Strand Two: Technical Standards Knowledge and Skills
  • Strand Three: Embedded Academics
  • Strand Four: Employability
  • Strand Five: Management and Entrepreneurship
  • Strand Six: Technology

JOB GOAL: To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their
development as mature able responsible and productive citizens.
1. Responsible to the DistrictWide Director of Chapter 74 Technical Programs; work
collaboratively with districtlevel administrators.
2. Conduct classes for qualifying students in your specific content area and provide
additional assistance to students as needed. Including teaching first aid CPR and Stop the Bleed to vocational students. Supervise clinical hours that need to becompleted by all 12thgradeHealth Assisting Students.
3. Work with the content area Directors in implementing the supervision of day classes and the After Dark Program. Including providing academic and vocational support to After Dark Students including our IA/UN Academy Students.
4. Knowing the MA Curriculum Frameworks for the content area Health Assisting

  1. Ensure that direct teacher instructional support is being provided to all students (general
    education special education 504 ELL)
    6. Provide students with grade assignments and prompt frequent ongoing and consistent instructional feedback.
    7. Maintain and record student grades and ensure that they are submitted to the Director Building Principal and Guidance Department so that theyare updated inPowerSchool.
    8. Work collaboratively to maintain and record attendance records in PowerSchool.
    9. Hold family and student conferences when needed.
    10. Contact families and students via phone email or letter to ensure Program participationand completion.
    11. Collaborate with the Director Principal family/guardian and Guidance Counselor to address issues of student attendance and Program completion.
    12. Manage and maintain attendance logs enrollment roster and create and maintain studentfolders.
    13. Manage and maintain data i.e. attendance course completion pre/post assessments
    progress surveys etc. to document the implementation of the Program.
    14. Complete any other data requests and reports related to the programs successful implementation.
    15. Help supervise students during arrival and dismissal from the Program.
    16. Work collaboratively with the other members of the team to ensure that the Program is
    successful.
    17. Foster a positive learning environment.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified as a Voc Tech Teacher Health Assisting 914
  • Possession of a current Massachusetts license as a registered nurse (RN)
  • Committed to quality instruction and implementation of curriculum standards with fidelity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students families and other teachers.
  • Understand the goals and requirements of the Common Core Standards.
  • Flexible schedule including the ability to work after school hours.
