Salary: 36k37500
Location: Bordon
Hours: MondayThursday/Early finish Friday
Start Date: ASAP
Type: Permanent

Our market leading client is seeking an experienced Tool Maker to join the team at their facility in Bordon. This is an exciting time to be joining the company and have the opportunity to grow and develop.

Tool Maker Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for the safe use of machinery and equipment in the department.
  • To report any machine and equipment faults and/or defects to the site manager / maintenance as soon as observed to arrange repair or maintenance.
  • To be responsible for housekeeping and SHE practices in the department.
  • To visually monitor the quality of your own work.
  • Working from CAD/CAM files engineering drawings sketches and or verbal instructions to evaluate the most appropriate machining and assembly methods on assigned tools.
  • Design and assist in the design of tools based on engineering specifications and drawings.
  • Produce tooling and component drawings.
  • Preparation modification and maintenance of existing tooling according to requirements.
  • Supporting the maintenance and troubleshooting of existing tools and equipment identifying areas for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in the sampling of tools to ensure functionality and adherence to engineering and quality standards
  • To support production with resolving toolingrelated issues during production.
  • Work closely with other departments implementing best practice LEAN techniques

Tool Maker Requirements:

  • Experience of working within a toolroom or precision engineering environment.
  • Machining Skills Proficiency in operating and maintaining machine tools such as lathes milling machines and grinders. This also includes the ability to perform precision machining tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies
  • Problemsolving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong understanding of machining techniques and materials used in mouldmaking.
