Job Description
Maverc Technologies is excited to announce an opening for a Journey Man Network Engineer. As a forwardthinking IT solutions provider we value creativity and innovation and we are looking for an engineer who will contribute to our mission of delivering topnotch networking solutions to our clients. In this role you will engage in handson network engineering tasks while collaborating with a team of skilled professionals.
Job Description:
The Journey Man Network Engineer will focus on the design implementation and support of network systems. You will work on maintaining a secure reliable and efficient network infrastructure ensuring that all technologies align with current security policies and client needs. Your responsibilities will include Planning configuring monitoring and troubleshooting:
- Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) for enterprise and edge routing
- Layer 2/3 switching platforms including Dell Arista Juniper and Cisco IOS/JunOSbased devices
- Palo Alto NextGeneration Firewalls (NGFW) to enforce advanced security policies
- Brocade Fibre Channel switches for highperformance storage networking
- Dell iDRAC environments using OpenManage Enterprise (OME) for remote system management
Work Environment
- Hybrid setup: 4 days WFH / 1 day inoffice in Columbia MD
- Occasional additional inoffice days may be required for planned outages or customer engagement
- Small seniorlevel team that values curiosity initiative and knowledge sharing
- Minimal meetings high autonomy and strong emphasis on embracing responsibility adapting quickly and delivering results
Contract Status
- This is a temporary backfill role for the months of June July and August. While additional contract work may open opportunities for ongoing employment there is no guarantee of extension beyond August at this time.
Requirements
What Youll Need
- U.S Citizenship
- Network certification such as Cisco CCNA CompTIA Network Juniper JNCA or equivalent
- Demonstrated handson experience with the technologies listed above
- Ability to work 20 hours/week consistently with flexibility to surge up to 40 hours/week based on evolving customer needs.
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with Jira and Confluence

- Ability to surge to 100% FTE as needed
- Experience with Windows and Linux system administration
- Handson experience with:
- Gigamon HC Series packet brokers (GigaVUE Fabric Manager)
- Juniper Session Smart Routers (SSR)
- Splunk Enterprise (SIEM) and Splunk SOAR
- Cribl and Tenzir platforms
