Job Description

Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher

Our organization is excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for passionate and qualified educators to apply for a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) teaching position for theschool year. This fulltime role spans multiple grade levels and is centered on delivering personalized educational experiences for students with hearing impairments.

In this role you ll design and modify curriculum to accommodate diverse communication and learning needs. Through ongoing assessments you ll evaluate student progress and refine your instruction to ensure individual success. A key responsibility will be delivering targeted oneonone and small group instruction while also serving as a resource to fellow educators providing training and strategies to effectively support DHH learners. You will lead the development and execution of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and maintain strong collaborative relationships with students families and school staff to foster a cohesive and inclusive support network.

Requirements

Candidates should hold a bachelor s degree in Deaf Education Special Education or a closely related field along with a valid Georgia Professional Educator License (PEL) that includes an endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education. Strong communication skills are essential and fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is highly preferred. Ideal applicants will have handson experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing within educational settings as well as a solid understanding of the IEP process and the delivery of classroom accommodations tailored to individual student needs.
