We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Consultant Ophthalmologist to lead the delivery of highquality eye care services in our facility. This role combines both clinical consultations and surgical interventions with a focus on excellence in diagnosis treatment and patient outcomes. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to manage a variety of ocular conditions and promote preventative vision care.
Conduct thorough eye examinations and diagnostic evaluations.
Treat and manage eye diseases including glaucoma cataracts diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration.
Perform advanced eye surgeries such as cataract extraction trabeculectomy and laser treatments.
Prescribe medications and vision aids when appropriate.
Provide guidance on postoperative care and vision rehabilitation.
Collaborate with optometrists nurses and other healthcare professionals for integrated care.
Maintain accurate confidential patient records using the hospital s EMR system.
Support training programs for residents interns and junior doctors.
Participate in quality assurance CME and clinical audits.
Provide oncall and emergency ophthalmic services as needed.
MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
Fellowship in Ophthalmology (FWACS FMCOphth MRCOphth or equivalent).
Full registration and valid practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
At least 3 5 years postfellowship clinical and surgical experience in ophthalmology.
Demonstrated expertise in microsurgical procedures.
Excellent diagnostic communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Proficiency in operating modern ophthalmic diagnostic and surgical equipment.
Subspecialty training (e.g. pediatric ophthalmology retina cornea) is an advantage.
A passion for mentoring and teaching junior medical staff.
Strong team collaboration and leadership capabilities.
