SUMMARY:
The Department of Health and Human is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual for a tenuretrack position in Sport Management within the Department of Health and Human Performance within the College of Education and Human Services. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an independent research program contribute to the teaching and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students and engage in service to the university and the broader academic and professional community. The position will begin in Fall 2025.
The position is a fulltime 9month tenuretrack position at the Assistant Professor rank. Summer teaching is optional but not guaranteed. The position will primarily serve in the undergraduate Sport and Recreation Management degree and the graduate Sport Management and Athletic Administration concentration under Health Kinesiology and Sports Studies. Faculty at East Texas A&M University are required to show evidence in teaching excellence conduct scholarly activity work cooperatively with others and contribute service to their discipline the university and the community.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research:
- Develop and maintain an independent externally funded research program in sport management.
- Conduct highquality research that results in publications in peerreviewed journals.
- Collaborate with faculty across departments and disciplines to advance the field of sport management.
Teaching:
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Sport Management and related topics
- Develop innovative course materials and teaching methods to enhance student learning
- Mentor and advise students and coordinate internships
Service:
- Participate in program departmental college and university committees
- Identify and cultivate partnerships with businesses and organizations in the sport management industry
- Engage in service activities within professional organizations
- Lead recruitment and retention efforts for the sport management programs
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Ph.D. or terminal degree in Sport Management or a closely related field
- Experience / Knowledge / Skills: The candidate should demonstrate a potential for teaching in the following areas: Sport Management and Athletic Administration. The candidate should demonstrate a potential to establish and pursue research and scholarship.
- Ability to: Multitask and work well as part of a team.
PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrated ability to teach sport management classes at the college/university level (e.g. organizational behavior sport facility management sport law data analytics)
- Demonstrated record of effective teaching in both inperson and online courses
- Experience in interdisciplinary research and collaboration
- A strong record of research accomplishments and publications in sport management or a related field
SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:
The applicant may be responsible for the supervision of Graduate Assistants and Student Lab Assistants.
