WORK YEAR: 12 months
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the supervision of the Site Administrator and/or designee the Site Custodial Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of the sites custodial staff and program. This position will inspect facilities and consult with maintenance and grounds personnel and District administrators to coordinate and prioritize work projects; train assign supervise and evaluate the work of assigned custodial staff.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans develops schedules and supervises the programs projects and functions related to custodial services of the assigned high school; E
- Enforces all custodial procedures to meet the standards required by law and works with administration to ensure compliance with all regional state and federal regulations and laws as they impact the District; E
- Supervises and evaluates the performance of assigned custodial personnel at the site; schedules assigns and inspects work; analyzes staffing requirements and makes recommendations; E
- Coordinates custodial and other necessary coverage for all site events internal and external; E
- Confirms and coordinates the assignment of custodial substitutes for assigned site; E
- Compiles analyzes and interprets technical data related to custodial projects and apply as necessary; E
- Ensures safe work practices and compliance with a variety of health and safety regulations; E
- Promotes efficient use of equipment and supplies; E
- Maintains the appropriate appearance and condition of buildings grounds and assigned vehicles; E
- May oversee the work of outside contractors related to custodial services;
- Responsible for the administration of the custodial budget for the assigned site; monitors and controls expenditures in accordance with established fiscal policies Education Code and public contract code; E
- Plans and organizes trainings related to assigned functions as needed; provides training for new custodial staff and substitutes; E
- Ensures the preparation and maintenance of required records reports and files as appropriate; E
- Procures requested data and prepares reports for the Site Administrator and Director/Assistant Director of Maintenance Operations and Transportation; E
- Attends chairs and conducts a variety of meetings and conferences related to assigned functions; E
- Communicates with District administrators and staff regulatory agencies contractors vendors and others concerning maintenance operations grounds and custodial services at assigned site; E
- Coordinates with all stakeholders to provide a safe school environment; E
- Adheres to and implements the certificated and classified collective bargaining agreements; E
- Performs job assignment safely for the purpose of protecting people and property; E
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Graduation from high school or equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade;
- Associates degree; or
- Completion of at least two years of approved collegelevel courses from an accredited institution or technical certifications preferred;
- Any combination of training and education that would likely provide the desired knowledge.
Experience:
- Two (2) years of experience related to maintenance and operations;
- Supervisory or lead experience preferred;
- Public works and/or school district experience preferred.
Licenses Certifications and Testing:
- Pass a preemployment physical and drug test;
- A current and valid Tuberculosis (TB) clearance;
- Fingerprint clearance for school personnel;
- Must possess a valid California Driver License during the course of employment and be insurable by the Districts liability insurance carrier.
Knowledge and skills of:
- Planning organization and supervision of custodial programs;
- Modern methods materials and equipment used in custodial work;
- Budget preparation and control;
- Principles and practices of administration supervision and training;
- Organization operations policies and objectives of site programs and activities;
- Standard office equipment and computer applications including Microsoft Office and Google environments with expertise in Excel PowerPoint and Adobe;
- Modern office methods procedures and equipment including recordkeeping principles methods and procedures filing systems letter and report writing.
Ability to:
- Plan organize and administer multifaceted maintenance and custodial programs;
- Train supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff using Districtapproved technology and tools;
- Prepare administer monitor and control the annual department plan and budget;
- Maintain current knowledge of custodial program rules regulations requirements and restrictions;
- Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities;
- Follow directions and work as a productive member of a highly functioning administrative team;
